Welcome to the Diane E. Ames Scholarship Fund

Our mission is to provide college support to graduating seniors who aspire to pursue careers in Business or Education. This Scholarship honors Ms. Diane E. Ames' lifelong commitment to empowering students to achieve their academic and professional goals.

Diane E. Ames dedicated over 37 years to shaping future leaders through her business education classes in Accomack County Public Schools and Eastern Shore Community College.

Her passion for mentorship extended beyond the classroom. As a Girl Scout troop leader and sponsor of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), she created impactful learning experiences and helped students find their voice and purpose.

Ms. Ames was admired for her high standards, fierce dedication, and love of teaching. She inspired both young and adult learners to pursue excellence, making her a pillar of her community and a role model for generations to come.

Eligibility
Award

One scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Nandual High School Class of 2026.

  1. Two letters of recommendation from a teacher, employer, or community leader

  1. 500-word essay

  2. Completion of Community Service Form

  3. Proof of enrollment in an accredited college or trade school (only if selected for award)

When is the deadline?

Applications close on March 31st each year, so plan accordingly.

Can I edit my application?

Yes, edits are allowed until the submission deadline only.

How will I know if I’m selected?

Selected applicants will receive an email notification on May 1, 2026.
